Does the client need to provide financial documents like tax returns to apply?
No. One of the primary advantages of Wage Guard is that no financial proof is required at the time of application, regardless of the monthly benefit amount selected. This allows for a fast, 15-minute digital enrollment process without the need for tax returns or pay stubs upfront.
How does the "No Coordination of Benefits" rule work?
For the first $2,500 of monthly benefits and for the first 36 months of disability, Wage Guard does not coordinate with other sources of income. This means your client can receive their full Wage Guard benefit even if they are also collecting payments from Worker’s Compensation (CSST/WSIB), CPP/QPP disability, or other private insurance policies.
What happens to the policy when the client turns 65?
Unlike many competitors that terminate coverage at age 65 or 75, Wage Guard is guaranteed renewable up to age 100. As long as the client continues to work at least 20 hours per week and pays their premiums, they can maintain their accident-only disability protection well into their senior years.
