A day in the Life of Wage Guardian?

Meet Alex

At Wage Guard, our Disability Insurance Advisor typically spends the day balancing client relationships, financial planning, insurance expertise, and administrative work. The exact mix depends on whether they work for an insurer, an agency, a brokerage, or independently.

Here's what a typical day might look like:

  • 8:00–9:00 AM: Review emails, check underwriting updates, respond to client questions, prepare for meetings.
  • 9:00–11:30 AM Meet with new or existing clients to discuss income protection needs, assess financial situations, explain disability insurance options, and provide recommendations
  • 11:30 AM–12:30 PM: Complete applications, gather medical and financial documentation, coordinate with underwriters.
  • 12:30 AM–1:30 PM: Lunch meeting with client / Corporate Lunch & Learn.
  • 1:30 PM–3:00 PM: Follow up on pending applications, contact prospects, network with centre of influence, accountants, or mortgage brokers for referrals.
  • 3:00–5:00 PM: Policy reviews, client annual check-ins, discuss coverage changes due to career or income changes, answer claim-related questions.
  • Late Afternoon: Administrative tasks, CRM updates, compliance documentation, continuing education, and planning for the next day.
